You can plant anything you want in a raised bed really, but we're thinking about the home-growers, allotment dwellers and survivalists in this blog, as we look at the Top 5 UK Vegetables that you can grow in a Raised Flower Bed, and some tips on how to make them grow nicely!

1. Carrots

Carrots are a popular and easy-to-grow vegetable that can be planted in raised beds. To plant carrots, loosen the soil to a depth of about 8 inches, and then sow the seeds about 1/4 inch deep and 1 inch apart. Water the seeds gently, and then thin the seedlings to about 3 inches apart once they have grown to about 2 inches tall.


2. Radishes

Radishes are another easy-to-grow vegetable that can be planted in raised beds. To plant radishes, loosen the soil to a depth of about 6 inches, and then sow the seeds about 1/4 inch deep and 1 inch apart.
