These metal planters are designed to give your garden a stylish and designer look. Modelled after commercial planters, these trough-style planters are an easy way to give your garden or patio a modern appearance, whilst still offering a functional home for your flowers and plants. They are modelled after commercial grade planters that you may see in cities and towns, but available at a consumer-friendly price.
Crafted from heavy duty British steel, these planters will be delivered to you in their bare steel form, which will slowly rust over time in front of you, developing a reddish-brown patina and a rustic, vintage look. Please be aware that this could cause staining to patio and concrete areas though.
The planter troughs are delivered fully assembled, there's nothing for you to do other than place it and fill it with plants and flowers. If you order our two sizes which are 1150mm in width, these will need to be delivered via a pallet, but we are offering shipping free of charge for a limited time only.
Unlike many planter troughs on the market which feature a flat top lip, our planters have a slight sloping which allows for excellent drainage, with excess liquid running into the planter to help water the plants. The planter comes complete with drainage holes on the bottom to allow excess liquid to run out.

Things to note:
At Indoor Outdoors we have many products which we describe as Rustic Steel. This refers to the fact that the item will rust over time to give it that lovely orangey-brown vintage look.
When your product arrives, it may have small patches of rust forming, but it will be in its bare, Mild Steel state. It will be a mostly grey-ish colour. Over time though, as the item is left outside and exposed to the elements, a rusty patina will form on the surface of the steel which gives it that lovely hue. This can take time though, and depends entirely on the outside conditions. Heavy rainfall and bad weather will help it rust faster.
You can speed the rusting process up though, some of our customers have recommended using vinegar, salt or lemon juice on the surface to get that rusty look a little sooner.
Depending on weather conditions, we say it can take anywhere from several weeks, to several months to fully rust. Jason, one of our customers has shared a special tip for achieving that lovely rusty outer in just 2 days!
You can pour equal parts of distilled vinegar and hydrogen peroxide into a spray bottle, along with a 1/4 of a standard cup of salt. Spray this mixture all over the product and it will cause an immediate reaction, rusting in just a matter of days!
