Volcann Circular Rustic Steel Garden Containment Bonfire & Incinerator

The Volcann Rustic Steel Incinerator and containment bonfire allows you to have a safe, and environmentally friendly method of incinerating garden waste and other rubbish. The open base means it sits on your lawn, or on a paving slab, and burns directly on there, meaning the ash isn't collected in the incinerator itself.

Rather than typical Bonfires which are just placed onto the ground and set alight, these containment bonfires are designed to contain the flame to one particular area, in a size of your choosing. This is both for safety to ensure that the fire does not spread, and to

The incinerators will be delivered in a bare steel finish, this will rust over time allowing you to see your burner age and weather until a fine rusty patina has developed on the outside.

To operate the incinerator, find a good place for it to sit, this could be on your lawn, on some soil or on a stone or paving slab. The fire will burn directly on here, so do not put it somewhere you don't mind getting a little burnt. Fill the incinerator with garden waste and other easily-burnt materials such as papers, receipts or confidential documents, and then light the fire. Once the burning is complete, allow ample time for the steel to cool down to avoid chance of burning yourself or injury. Then simply sweep the ash away, or shovel it into a wheelbarrow and take it away, the incinerator itself will not need cleaning.

The Rustic Steel Incinerator will be just an outer ring, designed to be placed directly on a surface such as concrete, lawn or soil in the garden, there is no base to the incinerator.
Due to the need for bespoke manufacturing, any circular rustic steel incinerators are subject to a 7 day maximum turnaround time due to the need for custom production - no Next-Day services are available for these. We reserve the right to refuse returns on these products as they are custom-made.
Whilst we aim to deliver your Rustic Steel Incinerator rust-free so it will rust over time in front of you, some of our bare steel products may already show signs of rust when manufactured.

Rusting Process Explained

At Indoor Outdoors we have many products which we describe as Rustic Steel. This refers to the fact that the item will rust over time to give it that lovely orangey-brown vintage look.

When your product arrives, it may have small patches of rust forming, but it will be in its bare, Mild Steel state. It will be a mostly grey-ish colour. Over time though, as the item is left outside and exposed to the elements, a rusty patina will form on the surface of the steel which gives it that lovely hue. This can take time though, and depends entirely on the outside conditions. Heavy rainfall and bad weather will help it rust faster.

You can speed the rusting process up though, some of our customers have recommended using vinegar, salt or lemon juice on the surface to get that rusty look a little sooner.

Want it to rust faster?

Depending on weather conditions, we say it can take anywhere from several weeks, to several months to fully rust. Jason, one of our customers has shared a special tip for achieving that lovely rusty outer in just 2 days!

You can pour equal parts of distilled vinegar and hydrogen peroxide into a spray bottle, along with a 1/4 of a standard cup of salt. Spray this mixture all over the product and it will cause an immediate reaction, rusting in just a matter of days!
